Data-driven dynamic treatment planning for chronic diseases

In order to deliver effective care, health management must consider the distinctive trajectories of chronic diseases. These diseases recurrently undergo acute, unstable, and stable phases, each which requires a different treatment regimen. However, correct identification trajectory thus regimens, is challenging. this paper, we propose data-driven, dynamic approach for identifying phases suggesting regimens. Specifically, develop novel variable-duration copula hidden Markov model (VDC-HMMX). our VDC-HMMX, modeled as series latent states with stable, unstable are eventually recovered. We demonstrate effectiveness VDC-HMMX on basis longitudinal study 928 patients suffering from low back pain. A myopic classifier identifies regimens balanced accuracy slightly above 70%. comparison, 83.65%. This highlights value monitoring disease management.
